Actually Colin, funny you should bring Young Doctors up.... it was my first gig on television all those years ago. I did a guest role that then turned into a regular supporting role... My character's name was Nurse Heather Victor (makes me think of lawnmovers LOL)... My character featured in a couple of eps when there was a carpark stalker who beat her up! Poor Heather... and yes what I liked most about S&D is that it never really took itself seriously so therefore created memorable outrageous plots, characters and true SOAP entertainment. When one got hooked on S&D one really couldn't wait to see what happened in the next episode! ;D Cheers OH PS.... I can think of worse themes to get stuck in my head! LOL

Hi Oriana Hope you are well, you are one of best characters there was in the show - apart from Pat and Alison. Your stories kept everyone gripped! Especially the fake suicide attempts. Gripping stuff, seeing you walk into the sea then the s.a.d music playing out. I really enjoyed it when you appeared to "haunt" Wayne at Glens funeral, while he was drunk in his car. Then you came back from the dead for a short time, then the writers did the story again. Wayne believed each time you had topped yourself. I liked it when Alison got you to pull up in your sports car, to try and spook Wayne, that was in the last but one episode. Then finally when you appeared at Charlie's wedding and we saw you running across the garden. Poor you, Wayne grabs you and hold you in the Hamilton house. Thought Susan could have done more to help poor Alison on the last episode - but never mind your dad David came to the rescue when she was down and out. I couldn't bear too see Alison in that bed sit. But I think the writers got it just right when they bought David back to save her. In real life... i think it great you have on to this site, and chatting to us. ANY CHANCE OF YOU POSTING A UP TO DATE PHOTO OF HOW YOU LOOK IN 2006? ?? go on Oriana.

Wasn't young doctors on before S&D in the 80's. If I remember rightly maybe a couple of days a week and then 3 days a week it was A Country Practice then S&D was on at 3.30.

oops can't edit the post above.... just wanted to correct name spelling... it's Tayler not Taylor... slip of the keyboard....OK by for now O Hehe.. it's OK Oriana, the post-production guys (or whoever used to type up the closing credits) could'nt make their mind up how to spell Sally's name either - it kept alternating on various weeks! For a while, particularly towards the end of the show, the closing credits were typed up appalingly' anyone remember Graig Maxell (!!), Pamila Hudson (!!) and Janice Reed (not Reid), for example? They also couldn't decide if Jill was O'Donnel or O'Donnell. Actors names were typoed sometimes too, but I think you were saved from embarrassment most of the time. Often Guest Artist weren't credited at all, which I imagine may have annoyed them at times. Still, as long as they got paid, I guess...

It depends where you lived in the UK, Dee. Most regions tended to show S&D some days and Young Doctors on others. YTV used to show Doctors at lunchtimes when S&D went out at 3.30. ACP was originally shown Mondays and Tuesdays, with S&D on Wednesday-Friday.

Hi Oriana
I think its really good that you take time to come on these forums and speak to people. Your character, Alison and Janice were my favourites from the later period of the show. I loved the storylines when you "died" and came back again. Could I please ask you some questions? 1, Were the Cast and Crew surprised when the show was axed? 2, Would you have stayed on the show if it had not have been axed ? 3, What was your favourite storyline ? 4,What were your screen parents like?
Hope you are well Oriana, loved rushing home to watch you after school back in the late '80's

I used to rush home from school to watch it too, or as my excuse at the time was 'My mother used to have it on whilst I waited for the kids shows that followed' Although I admit to watching or taping the whole series recently on channel 5!

Hi Dee, Your right if some one had said you would be asking Susan Palmer questions through a computer 17 odd years later. I would think they were probably a bit crazy. It looks like quite a few of us use to rush home from school to watch the show. (we even nicknamed a girl in our year Jaince, as she looked a tiny bit similar to the character). Do you ever use to watch Prisoner Cell Block H as well. I thought that show was nerely as good as Sons and Daughters.

Prisoner!!! Another one of my fave shows. It was on so late though wasn't it. I think I was about 13 when I started watching it. I was forced to watch it as I shared a bedroom with my sister (she's 7 years older than me) and she would come bouncing into the bedroom, switching my portable tv on (which incidently was black and white!!!!) and of course i couldn't get to sleep. But I got so hooked on it. It was fab. Getting up for school the next day was a struggle though. I watched Prisoner on ch5 many years later all over again.
