Hi everyone, thanks to Aussie Classics on You-tube, I am watching SAD for the third time; watched it first time round and again in the 90's. Anyroad up - enter the dreaded Roger Carlyle played by Les Dayman, and, after hearing that he was playing a man of around 45, I felt impelled to look him up on IMDB.com, to find that he was born in January 1938; that would make his real age about 45/46 when he played that character. Goodness! I thought - he must have had a hard life...lol...crikey, I'd've had him down for at least 60 at that time...sorry, Les (Roger), but that craggy face did nothing to help look 45...

Having not seen S&D for a long time, I was rather surprised to find that the evil Roger (I did remember the character) was played by the same guy who played the cranky but loveable Sgt George on E Street.

Roger seems to be viewed as a memorable villain in some S&D circles.
I actually found him a bit wooden and one dimensional.
I much preferred Dr.Ross Newman, he was a much more multi layered bad guy.
