It's very hard creating a poll as the people chosen for the poll may not be to everyones liking.
I have tried to pick characters that were central to the whole series and I had to add Susan as one of the girls who played her is a member of this forum!!!!!
Happy voting...........

Thanks for starting the poll, but the choices are really poor! Of all the characters in the show, I'd have to say that Wayne was my favourite. In real life, he'd have been murdered very quickly!

LOL Chris... yes! we'd say that all the time behind the scenes... Wayne would never have got away with all the stuff he did in real life... but that's what makes his character so much FUN! You darling Verso... you don't have to put in a smallish character like Susan just because I'm on here! I'm a fan too! I'm here coz I'm a fan. I wouldn't vote for Susan in that lot... though I did love her... it's a tough choice between Wayne and PAT the RAT....hmmmm but it has to be the ladies I'm afraid, coz they are the only ones (apart from Barbara) that gave him grief! LOL (I couldn't vote btw I had a error sign come up... but that might be at my end).... just know I cast my vote for the BIG GIRLS! edit: I worked out what was wrong I forgot to click Patricia/Alison! (hehe Dee did you vote for Susan?.... guys guys, my ego is a lot healthy than that.... vote for who you really like.... I have! ;D) PS... umm Amanda should be on there too if I am.... hey Chris? And what about Barbara.... oops this is going to be a big poll.... sorry Verso... you're right... everyone has their favourties... that's why the show has so many fans! cheers.... you crazy fans.... isn't this FUN!

For me, Patricia was the quintensential character of the series. There were so mmany brilliant and outstanding characters that contributed to the show's success (Fiona, Wayne, Gordon, Irene and Barbara to name but a few), but Patricia - and later Alison - was the central force that made it all come together for me. Her moods and manipulative desires set the pace and often dictated the course of the action and Rowena Wallace was so eminently perfect in the role that she made it all completely and utterly believable.

??? Hey ! What about me? Kevin Palmer (Stephen Comey)? Kevin - like every member of the original cast - contributed without question to the success of the show. I really enjoyed his initial appearance (phoning up to complain to the network about 'that nice man climbing up to the roof'), It very quickly showed us that Kev was a very loyal soul, with a very pronounced sense of humour. I also liked his early signs of rebellion and falling out with his old man, David.

I'm in good company on this forum - Kevin Palmer (Stephen Comey) and Oriana Panozzo (Susan Palmer Mark 2!). My sister had a crush on Kevin. Quite a lot of cute women in the show, too! Angela, Lynn, both Susans and some others. Towards the end, there was the Wayne/Susan/Glen love triangle. A good resolution - why don't they have one each? Two story arcs that were used at least three times were: Characters falsely accused of murder John Palmer - Oriana and Stephen's screen brother - though he subsequently turned out not to be, accused of murdering Sam Selmar at the start, turned out to be Bill Todd, David, accused of murdering Martin Healy - Martin actually committed suicide and Craig, accused of killing his biological mum. Character doubles: Gary Evans, the Wayne lookalike, though his voice sounded a little raspy, Ruby Hawkins, the Beryl lookalike, Craig's biological mum (he initially mistook Beryl for her) except that Ruby wore a lot of make-up and Pamela Hudson, a Pat The Rat lookalike, who turned out to be Patricia's twin sister.
