I think one of the best things about sons and daughters when I first saw it was that you never really knew what was going to happen. There were no soap mags or papers that carried spoilers so it was fresh. I remember watching the 1993 (i think) cliffhanger at Woombai where theres the three or four shots from the gun and all you see is an outside picture of woombai and not knowing who was actually shot..albeit a little let down when the 1994 season started. Its funny to see the 'Tony Parker' actor Grant Piro on Rain Shadow on Hallmark on Sundays.. he looks a lot older which just ages Sons and Daughters whereas when you see Beryl on YouTube she just looks the same, complete with tent dress. I'm pretty sure Grant Piro was in Casualty quite a few years ago. Had a main part in it as well. We are talking at least 10 years now. I'm just gonna go onto imdb website and see if I can spot anything.

Hi Dee, Yeah I remember him in Casualty too. I love watching other 'sons' actors on tv and seeing them as they are now. I saw Peter Phelps (John) on Water Rats the other nights. It was 10 years old but even then he a changed a bit. Cornelia Frances hasnt changed a bit though. She seems to have been the most consistant aussie soap actor.

Same as most, I remember getting in from school and it just starting with my Mum sat watching it. At first I was like 'I wish this would hurry up and finish so CITV would start' as that followed it.. then one day I saw the cliffhanger when Lynn was chasing Andy(around the cult time I think) and she slipped I think then the episode ended and all I could think of was Will he go back for her? and I just HAD to watch the next episode. From then on I never missed it. I loved the characters and storylines. so you were a bit of a late starter col....lol ;D I was even later in discovering it - I first saw the episode at the end of which Karen Hamilton died, just outside the house full of a marvellous collection of murder suspects, and stayed not only to find out "whodunnit" (revealed surprisingly soon!) but until the end of the series. Although, for a while, I was fast-forwarding through the boring Palmers and the deadly boring, about-to-disappear completely, O'Briens - who at this time were in virtually independent storylines. Like others here, though, I then watched the series in full on UK Gold and on Channel five as well! Mind youl, even when Five re-ran it I was still surprised about how much I couldnt remember You are right. YOu do forget!! I watched it all on Yorkshire TV, then on UK Gold then Channel 5. ;D Same here - several times, when a new character appeared, I found I could remember how they ultimately met their (often grisly) end - but not much else about what else they were going to do before that!

I was a kid when it was shown in the afternoons on ITV. I imagine that, since my mum watched it, I must have got hooked during school holidays or something. I then had my mum tape it for me so I could come back from school and watch it! I saw some of the repeats in the early 90s on 7, before they took 'em off again. Am now currently watching the 7TWO repeats (along with the old H&A repeats). I liked 80s (and very early 90s) Neighbours too. They all got rubbish after that, though.
