Did anyone understand the message of Serbia's song? It seemed to have a political theme (maybe other Europeans got it, as they certainly gave the points). The UK has once again died a death at 2nd last place thanks to our dismal score, though we didn't quite hit rock bottom like poor Ireland did -- coming last!

I don't know why we bother anymore. This show is all about which country likes which country and nothing to do with the song. Terry Wogan is classic as he always predicts who gives the 12 points to who although he was wrong a couple of times last night and was quite shocked.lol

Gone the days when Abba, Bucks Fizz, and Nicole - A Little Peace made the contest good. Do you remember Nicole, a french girl who had a number one hit with A Little Peace in 1982.

Do you remember Nicole, a french girl who had a number one hit with A Little Peace in 1982. She was German! - and still is! She continued to have hit singles for several years, and hit albums for many more - but not in the UK!! - and recently contributed to a new programme which was part of a "Eurovision night" on the German channel hr last week (they also repeated three old 1970s editions of their national finals, and the three half-hour programmes profiling their three finalists from last year). ..

thought the contest was a disgrace. It's not at all about the songs - the semi-final was proof of that and how the main contest would go. shame as it's something I've enjoyed for years.
I remember Nicole. the German shows sound very interesting.

I do remember Nicole. In fact the song is in my head as i'm typing this. I was seven when A Little Peace by Nicole come out. I remember playing it to my hearts content on a little record player I've still got the little seven inch single - would never part with it. Also I've got the Sons and Daughters theme by Keri and Micki on a single, there's and eighties picture of John and Angela on the front. This single did chart, but at the lower end of the chart, imagine if it would have got into the top twenty and was featured on Top Of The Pops. A couple of years ago, Saga Radio in the Midlands played it one afternoon.

Hunter Where abouts in Newcastle are you from? Maybe I have asked you this before but I can't remember. lol My dad was born in Byker and brought up in Walker. I spent a lot of my school holidays in Walker.

I'm from a town called Morpeth, it's 15 miles north of Newcastle. Of course, nobody's ever heard of it so I just say Newcastle. Walker isn't too bad, but Byker has a reputation for being a rough/dodgy area (there are a lot of impoverished council estates in northern cities). But then I've never lived there of course

I do know Morpeth. If i'm right it is in the direction of Whitley Bay. is this correct? ;D
I haven't been to Newcastle for a few years now. My Uncle lives just outside the centre.

I'm still in Shipley, Yorkshire. Every Saturday me and my nan would go to Wallsend for a bit of shopping. Years later I read Robson Greens biography and found that he used to attend a drama group at Wallsend. I could have walked passed him a million times and not known about it....lol ;D ;D
